The agronomic potential of Host-Induced Gene Silencing: mechanisms and efficacies

28 May 2015

Sophia Antipolis - Inra PACA - Room A010

As part of the scientific activities of the 'Institut Sophia Agrobiotec', Karl-Heinz Kogel - Research Centre for BioSystems - Land Use and Nutrition - Justus Liebig University - Allemagne, invited by IPO team, will present its work on: "The agronomic potential of Host-Induced Gene Silencing: mechanisms and efficacies"

Summary

In this talk I will show data on the control of Fusarium diseases as well as aphids by Host-Induced Gene Silencing (HIGS). More recent experiments also show a potential for the use of small RNAs in non-transgenic application strategies which might open new avenues for plant protection.
