Building the resilience of ecosystem services in the agroecological transition

Building the resilience of ecosystem services in the agroecological transition

20 September 2024

Sophia Antipolis - INRAE PACA - A010

As part of the ISA scientific event to be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 am in room A010, Coline Jaworski, Research Fellow with the RDLB team, will present her work.

Abstract :

Since obtaining my PhD in Evolutionary Ecology, I have developed a research program on the ecological and adaptive mechanisms contributing to the mitigation of the effects of global change on ecosystem services. In particular, I study plant-insect interactions and the associated ecosystem services of biological control of crop pests and pollination, using a variety of empirical, experimental and modeling approaches and scales, from the laboratory to the landscape, combining concepts from the disciplinary fields of community dynamics, chemical ecology, behavioral ecology and evolutionary ecology.

I will present an overview of my major research projects, including two that are close to my heart: the impact of climate change on plant-pollinator interactions, and quantifying the ecosystem services of the transition to regenerative agriculture.

I'll conclude with an overview of my research aspirations, notably in the context of projects currently under evaluation - probably with a focus on climate change.

Keywords: global change, climate change, conservation biological control, pollination, systems approaches, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches
