Born in Paris, trained at the Jean-Jacques Rousseau high school in Sarcelles, doctor of the Pierre and Marie Curie University of Paris, post-doctoral fellow at the Collège de France within the chair of Cellular Biochemistry, Eric Galiana directs research on the cellular and molecular aspects of plant-pathogenic Oomycete-Microbiota interactions in articulation and at the interface with the principles of Physics in the field of microfluidics.

The research conducted addresses the issues of (i) plant immunity in relation to plant development; (ii) understanding the regulatory mechanisms of the plant-oomycete-microbiota interaction in relation to biocontrol; (iii) the biology of movement, dissemination, and the polarized perception of the host or environmental signals in biflagellate zoospores produced by oomycetes, with a view to better controlling the dissemination of diseases caused by oomycetes.
