Deontology, scientific integrity and ethics

30 June 2023

Sophia Antipolis - INRAE PACA - A010

As part of the ISA scientific program, on Friday, June 30 at 1:30 pm in room A010, Françoise Simon Plas will give us a talk on issues of deontology, scientific integrity and ethics, and their implementation in research projects.

Abstract :

Françoise Simon Plas DR INRAE, is INRAE's delegate for Deontology, Scientific Integrity and Research Project Ethics.
Since 2015, INRAE has been developing a national network around scientific integrity. In 2018, when Françoise Simon-Plas took over this role, she proposed bringing together 3 highly convergent notions: deontology, a professional code of practice linked to the status of public servant, and carrying values of impartiality, integrity, probity; scientific integrity, which is a professional code of practice specific to research activity; and the ethics of research projects, which makes it possible to question the aims of actions carried out at INRAE, the consequences of the way in which they are deployed, and to ensure that they will harm no one and benefit everyone.
